Rough skin is something that many people have and nobody wants to have. It is undesirable and can leave a person feeling very uncomfortable with his or her own skin. Having soft skin like that of a baby’s is something that most people want to feel better and look better as well. Coconut oil is a great way to achieve this very thing. If a person uses coconut oil then this person will most likely experience softer and healthier skin after some time using it regularly. What follows are a few tips that any person using coconut oil should follow throughout the whole process of applying it to his or her skin.
The first thing that should be done before applying coconut oil to the skin is a thorough and concise wash of the skin. This will open up the pores and remove all dirt and bacteria, making the skin clean and ready to go.
Next a person has to dry to recently washed skin. Although it may seem like common sense to dry skin, there is a wrong way which would cause unnecessary distress to a persons skin. A person should either let his or her skin air dry or oat it dry because rubbing a towel can stress the skin.
Next a person can exfoliate his or her skin as a means to remove any and all dead skin cells that might be there so that the skin that will receive the very beneficial infusion of coconut oil will be fresh skin and not dead skin, which is beyond rejuvenation or repair.
Now, after the initial set up a person is ready to apply the coconut oil to his or her skin. The coconut oil should be applied gently and with care. The person should know that it should go on with cotton balls and be allowed to dry and seep into the skin before placing more of the coconut oil on the skin.
All extra oil should be removed with a cotton ball because if there is too much oil then the skin will become greasy. A person wants to apply enough oil so that the skin receives this beneficial oil but not too much that the skin is overwhelmed by it and subsequently causes break outs and creates skin that is way too greasy.
This is a routine that should be followed. If a person does this once in a while or sparsely then it will have little to no effect on this persons skin. There need to be a constant infusion of the coconut oil in order for it to have a profound positive effect on the skin.
